It is important to keep your legal documents safe, secure and in some cases private. My Fortress offers document storage solutions to ensure that your Will, LPAs and any supplementary documents are stored, insured and accessible to you at your convenience.
Only the original version of your Will is legally binding. Other copies such as scans, photographs and photocopies are not legally binding as they do not bear your original signature. It is therefore imperative that the original Will is stored securely.
Storing your legal documents at home might seem like a good idea for accessibility, however it carries great risk of loss, theft or damage. Fire, flooding, spillages and accidental damage are common events which could invalidate your legal documents.
Document Storage
My Fortress is partnered with The National Will Safe to provide secure storage of legal documents in fireproof waterproof safes. This allows you to get the best of both worlds in terms of security and accessibility: Your documents will be stored professionally in the most secure environment, and you can request to view the documents/amend them at any time free of charge. The National Will Safe are insured up to £2,000,000 for each document stored with them, so you can have peace of mind that your documents are protected.
Please note that My Fortress does not provide professional attestation services, and that any documents produced will be delivered with detailed and document specific attestation instructions. If you do not confidently understand these instructions please contact your Will writer before signing your documents.
